This individual was quite a distance away, and not wanting to spook him, or other birds between he and I, I had to put on the 2x II Teleconverter to get him large enough in the frame. That put me at f/8 already, and I went 2 stops smaller to reduce image degradation as much as possible. I had to really apply good 'long-lens technique' to get away with 1/500 second, shooting at the equivalent of 1560 mm, and was fortunate to come away with this image.
