The colors on this bird have always captivated me. Usually they're wandering around in the vegetation and underbrush at the waters edge, creating difficulty in photographing them. We came across this one perched on the top of a bush in the water, at about eye-level, giving a different setting, and a distant, soft background. I have mixed feelings about not having its lower body and legs in the frame; I had a little too much lens as the boat got closer and closer, and the rocking of the boat makes composition challenging! (A leaf behind its back was cloned out.)
